'People are intimidated' - the reasons 'powerhouse' Arsenal have become the side to defeat.

There's little doubt why Arsenal are now countless pundits' favorites to claim the Premier League this season.

Examine their results against West Ham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those equivalent matches last season.

The Gunners have beaten all of them this time around, but lost 10 points across those games as they fell away in the title race in the prior campaign.

Impenetrable Rearguard

Arsenal's defensive solidity is a crucial element why they are seeming ready to ultimately achieve their title goal.

They stand first for unbreached games (6), goals allowed (3), opposition efforts (72), shots on target faced (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the finest in the league, with Arsenal recording a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Dominance

Their danger from dead balls is widely recognized, but rival sides still find it difficult to neutralize the Gunners from these opportunities.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, several additional than any other side, with 69% of their goals originating from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just wary of them and it is excellent to see."

Championship Credentials

What is especially impressive about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United on the road and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their historic competitors face difficulties. This marks the initial occasion at this stage of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on boss Mikel Arteta at the beginning, having invested around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in pursuit of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the business has so far paid off in style, with his side one of the most prolific attacks in the league and boasting the strongest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Shutouts in three consecutive Premier League games
  • Nearly 6.5 hours without conceding a goal
  • Only three goals in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and pundits have described Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking difficult to stop" with the whole club now performing with confidence and purpose.
