Two Detentions Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault caused the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
